South Football’s Impossible Dream Documentary Screening & Producer Q&A
The Ocean County Library 101 Washington St, Toms River, NJ, United StatesSouth Football’s Impossible Dream explores techniques used by legendary Toms River coach, Ron Signorino, Sr., in the 1960s, to turn a struggling high school football program into a powerhouse, ranked No. 1 in New Jersey. The one-hour film features rare footage of “The Greatest Game Ever Played at the Jersey Shore,” an epic battle in 1969 between Toms River South’s Hitting Indians and the Middletown Lions, that helped put Shore Conference Football on the map. Poignant interviews with former players reveal the impact Coach Signorino has had on their lives–-on and off the field–- during his career of more than 50 years. After the documentary viewing, producer, Sandy Levine, will host a Q&A session. For more than 35 years, filmmaker Sandra Levine has used her exceptional storytelling skills to inspire good, through informative documentaries, and engaging feature stories. Her work has helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for charity, and has been nominated 10 times for regional Emmy Awards. As a Jersey Shore native, Sandy considers her company’s poignant documentary, Heartbreak & Healing After Sandy to be among its most important [...]
