Pressed For Beauty: A Two-Part Pressed Flower Class @ TRAC
TRAC- Toms River Artist Community 40 Main Street, Toms River, NJ, United StatesDiscover the art of flower pressing in this creative two-part workshop exploring the timeless art of flower pressing. Your instructor, Simone Sheppard will demonstrate how to press flowers using different techniques, tips and tools. Then, over the next 6 weeks, students will collect and press their own blooms to bring to the second session. You’ll use your flowers to create beautiful handmade cards and bookmarks. Most materials will be provided. Just bring your pressed treasures and creativity! Students need to bring a small pallet knife or butter knife and scissors. Simone will bring some extra press flowers in case you’re not happy with your results. Ages: 14 and Up MEMBERS: $60 NON-MEMBERS: $70

Peggy Sue is preparing for her big show stopping musical number when tragedy strikes! She has been poisoned! Was it one of her lovers? Was it a jealous girlfriend? Was it her new manager Be sure to pay attention, as the professional actors of the Riddlesbrood Touring Theatre Company try to trick you while you're trying to solve the mystery of 'Who Killed Peggy Sue?? The Dinner Service includes: Mini Charcuterie Cups as the appetizer, main dish is Chicken Picatta, a side of Penne Vodka, sauteed brocolli rabe, a mixed green salad, and warm bread with herb butter. Ocean County Historical Society 26 Hadley Ave, Toms River, NJ, United StatesFIFTH ANNUAL OCEAN COUNTY HISTORY DAY The fifth annual Ocean County History Day is scheduled for Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM, “rain or shine.” The location is the Ocean County Historical Society, 26 Hadley Ave, Toms River. The event is sponsored by the Ocean County Historical Society, Ocean County Cultural and Heritage, and the Joshua Huddy Chapter of the DAR. Admission is free! Join us as we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States. Meet historical reenactors, take a tour of the Elizabeth Sculthrop House and Museum, celebrate with us the 75th anniversary of the Ocean County Historical Society, and visit the various displays set up by Ocean County historical organizations and museums. Ocean County Historical Society 26 Hadley Ave, Toms River, NJ, United StatesLocation: Ocean County Historical Society Time: 2:00 PM Sunday, September 14th – The Garden State: Where Ideas Grow – presented by Linda Barth The Ocean County Historical Society is proud to present New Jersey author Linda Barth as she discusses her book, A History of Inventing in New Jersey: From Thomas Edison to the Ice Cream Cone. Join Linda as she explores groundbreaking, useful, fun, and even silly inventions and their New Jersey roots! Linda’s book will be offered for sale, and she will be glad to autograph your copy. Linda, a lifelong New Jersey resident, has written two books on the D&R Canal and three children’s picture books. She has also contributed to the Encyclopedia of New Jersey. Linda currently serves as the executive director of the League of Historical Societies of New Jersey and as the president of the D&R Canal Watch. These events take place at our museum at 26 Hadley Avenue in Toms River. These events are free, but your donations in support of our programs are appreciated.
