The Toms River Elks Special Children’s Committee (SCC) is hosting this year’s Trunk or Treat. The SCC works with compassion and dedication to provide programs and events for children and adults with special needs. Our programs allow for special children of all ages to interact socially, and encourages them to attain their full potential. Participants in SCC programs have the opportunity to partake in many lodge events and programs such as dances, cooking classes and buddy bocce at no cost. This event is open to the public and free to attend. We are inviting nonprofit organizations, businesses and members of the community to participate by decorating their vehicle and passing out candy or child appropriate sensory toys to all the trick or treaters as they walk around to each vehicle. Awards will be handed out for the best-decorated vehicles and children in costume. ​ The rain date for the event is Saturday, October 19, 2024. The parade will begin at 2:30 PM. DESIGNER HANDBAG BINGO RETURNS TO THE TOMS RIVER ELKS! All proceeds raised at Designer Handbag Bingo benefit Elks Camp Moore. Tucked away in the hill of the Ramapo Mountains,Elks Camp Moore offers a fun filled vacation away from home for children with special needs. A week at Elks Camp Moore is a remarkable experience not soon to be forgotten. The primary goal of the camp is to further develop the recreational and social skills of each child. In a relaxed and accepting atmosphere , each camper experiences new adventures, lasting friendships, and opportunities that promote independence and greater self-confidence. Campers attend Elks Camp Moore at no charge to the families. Throughout the plunge season, each Elks lodge helps raise the funds needed to cover all camp costs. Advance tickets only. Toms River Elks Festival of Trees

Toms River Elks is excited to announce that this year’s Festival of Trees will be held on Thursday December 5, 2024. The theme of this year’s event is inclusion! The great hall will be decorated of course! This year the decorations will include Dr Seuss inspired designs created by our special children. What is the Festival of Trees? Local non-profit organizations are invited to participate in this event by displaying a beautifully decorated artificial Christmas tree that represents your organization and the services that you provide. On December 5th we will welcome the public to our gala holiday festival, complete with snacks and beverages for all. This year we have some real treats in store for you, including a S’mores Bar! Our cash kitchen will also be open for you to purchase a light fare of dinner foods. There will be music throughout the evening including a performance by the students in the Toms River Orchestra.
