Come on a surprisingly hilarious journey through the history of the English language during a virtual author talk with Gabe Henry at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sep. 17. Henry will discuss his newest book Enough is Enuf: Our Failed Attempts to Make English Eezier to Spell. Anyone who has the misfortune to write in English will, every now and then, struggle with its spelling. In the comic annals of linguistic history, legions of rebel wordsmiths have died on the hill of spelling reform, risking their reputations to simplify English spelling. This book is about them: Mark Twain, Eliza Burnz, Noah Webster, Upton Sinclair, Emma Dearborn, Theodore Roosevelt, Benjamin Franklin, and countless others.     Join Gregory for an evening of stories, chapter readings, and open discussion as we learn about the everchanging shore, and how we are each on our own journey. After a debilitating nervous breakdown, author Gregory Andrus set out to walk every single beach of the Jersey Shore, from Sandy Hook all the way down to Cape May. Walking through snowstorms, heat waves, and gales, as well as stunning sunny days, Gregory forged ahead, with nothing but his trusty film camera, his love of the ocean and his faith keeping him company. By the end of the journey, Gregory was surprised by what he learned.

    Author Ronald Negra and Valerie, his wife, will discuss the creation of this book: the inspiring true story of his mother Agnes' dedication to our country during WWII. During World War II, using her shortwave radio from her home in Nutley, New Jersey, Agnes listened to Radio Berlin each night and notated the names of U.S. Prisoners of War as they were announced.
