Let’s Talk: Friendships and Dating for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
October 21, 2025 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
| FreeThe Ocean County Library is proud to present “Let’s Talk Friendship and Dating!” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, October 21 at the Toms River Branch’s Home Town Dairy Room as part of the “Navigating Life with Intellectual and Developmental Disability” program series.
Communication and boundary setting are important for healthy friendship and dating. In this session, we will discuss how friendship and dating can emerge from being social. We will discuss clues that a person is interested (and disinterested) in friendships and/or dating. We will explore boundaries when meeting new people and strategies for getting to know people better over time. Special emphasis will be placed on strategies that support healthy relationship growth.
This program will be presented by Melissa Keyes DiGioia, CSE, Co-Founder and Director of Education, Finding Your Individuality.
The workshop is co-sponsored by the Ocean County Library and Ocean County College.
Registration is required for this free program. To register, visit tinyurl.com/FriendshipOCL, call 732-349-6200, or visit the branch at 101 Washington Street.
