Noted baseball historian Dan Schlossberg, author of 41 baseball books, presents Home Run King: The Remarkable Record of Hank Aaron. Schlossberg explains how Aaron teamed with younger brother Tommie to set the career record for home runs by brothers; how a chance spring training meeting with Robinson prepared him for a baseball world that was still segregated; and the constant comparisons with Ruth, with whom Aaron shared an uncanny Zodiac connection. All the big moments of Aaron’s career, plus many lesser ones will be discussed. The author will have books available for purchase and autograph.

This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ocean County Library—Toms River.

Take me out to the…Library! This September, the Toms River Branch will host four authors and experts, each with unique knowledge and experiences related to America’s favorite pastime. Presenters, their topics, and program registration are all separate from one another. Come to one, two, or three events—or make it a Grand Slam in the field of baseball history.
