Before You Can Say Jackie Robinson….

Put a star on your calendar for May 1st at 2:00 PM and sign up for a fascinating program at the Ocean County Historical Society, 26 Hadley Ave., Toms River, NJ. Presenting Black Baseball in America in the Era of the Color Line, Dr. Lawrence Hogan, Professor Emeritus of History at Union County College in NJ, will demonstrate why he has been described as a “national treasure” by the official Historian of Major League Baseball, John Thorn.

Author of The Forgotten History of African American Baseball, Dr. Hogan will be accompanied by poet, playwright and performer Kevin Kane who will perform his poem, “Breaking the Line with the Mudville Nine.”
