SUMMARY:Irish Concert with Charlie Zahm
DESCRIPTION:In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day\, spend the evening on a musical journey through the Emerald Isle with performer Charlie Zahm. \nWhen Charlie was old enough to sing\, he began appreciating the beautiful Celtic songs and melodies he first heard in the largely Scottish province of his mother’s birth\, Ontario\, Canada. Keenly aware of his own heritage\, which includes healthy doses of Scottish and Irish blood on both sides of his family\, Charlie has collected several hundred popular (as well as beautiful and obscure) selections and now performs them for thousands of fans up and down the Eastern Seaboard and across America. \nThis program is sponsored by the Friends of the Ocean County Library – Toms River.

SUMMARY:South Football’s Impossible Dream Documentary Screening & Producer Q&A
DESCRIPTION:South Football’s Impossible Dream explores techniques used by legendary Toms River coach\, Ron Signorino\, Sr.\, in the 1960s\, to turn a struggling high school football program into a powerhouse\, ranked No. 1 in New Jersey. Coach Signorino challenged his players to believe in “The Impossible Dream\,” and\, with guts and grit\, they clinched 19 consecutive wins. \nThe one-hour film features rare footage of “The Greatest Game Ever Played at the Jersey Shore\,” an epic battle in 1969 between Toms River South’s Hitting Indians and the Middletown Lions\, that helped put Shore Conference Football on the map. Poignant interviews with former players reveal the impact Coach Signorino has had on their lives–-on and off the field–- during his career of more than 50 years. \nAfter the documentary viewing\, producer\, Sandy Levine\, will host a Q&A session. \nFor more than 35 years\, filmmaker Sandra Levine has used her exceptional storytelling skills to inspire good\, through informative documentaries\, and engaging feature stories. Her work has helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for charity\, and has been nominated 10 times for regional Emmy Awards.\nAs a Jersey Shore native\, Sandy considers her company’s poignant documentary\, Heartbreak & Healing After Sandy to be among its most important work. The one-hour film that aired on NJTV and WHYY (PBS)\, explores two years of recovery in northern Ocean County following Superstorm Sandy’s destruction. In addition to documentary films\, Sandra Levine Productions creates projects for higher education\, corporate\, and nonprofit clients.
