Participating businesses will have ballots for voting.  Just look for the Scarecrow Walk poster in their window! \nOct. 11th – 31st \nLocation\nWashington & Main Street \nWhen\nOctober 11th to October 31st \nThe Scarecrow Walk is once again returning to Downtown Toms River.  The community is invited to come downtown and vote for their favorite scarecrow.  Scarecrows are on display from October 11th to October 31st .  Participating businesses will have ballots for voting.  Just look for the Scarecrow Walk poster in their window! \nDo you think you have what it takes to enter the contest?  Now is the time to start planning your ultimate scarecrow.  So\, dig out those old clothes from the attic\, rummage through your fall decorations and start designing the perfect scarecrow.  The contest is open to all ages and there is no entry fee.  Registration is required and must be received by Friday October 6th.   Again\, this year we will have two chances to win.  The first is the traditional People’s Choice\, where the public votes on their favorite scarecrow.  The second will be the Judge’s Choice.  Special Judges will vote on the best scarecrow.  Your scarecrow will automatically be entered into both contests. \nEligibility:\nThe contest is open to all ages and there is no entry fee.  Registration is required and must be received by 4:30pm Friday Oct. 4 \, 2024.  You can register for the contest by clicking the link below.

DESCRIPTION:The Toms River Elks Special Children’s Committee (SCC) is hosting this year’s Trunk or Treat. The SCC works with compassion and dedication to provide programs and events for children and adults with special needs. Our programs allow for special children of all ages to interact socially\, and encourages them to attain their full potential. Participants in SCC programs have the opportunity to partake in many lodge events and programs such as dances\, cooking classes and buddy bocce at no cost. \nThis event is open to the public and free to attend. \nWe are inviting nonprofit organizations\, businesses and members of the community to participate by decorating their vehicle and passing out candy or child appropriate sensory toys to all the trick or treaters as they walk around to each vehicle. \nAwards will be handed out for the best-decorated vehicles and children in costume. ​ \nThe rain date for the event is Saturday\, October 19\, 2024. \nThe parade will begin at 2:30 PM. The Trunk or Treat will be from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. \nParticipation in the Costume Parade is free and open to any age and ability. An RSVP is required for planning purposes. \nIn addition to parade participants\, the Toms River Elks is seeking residents\, businesses and organizations that would like to participate by decorating a vehicle and handing out treats.  Participating cars are required to pre-register as there is a limited number of spots available. \nOnly a limited number of spaces is available. Entry is free and spaces will be allocated in the order applications are received.
