Weekly Toms River Farmers’ Market Offers “Jersey Fresh” Produce and More

Toms River, NJ…. Summer is fast approaching here in the Garden State and crops are sprouting up, signaling the return of Downtown Toms River’s weekly Farmers Market. The Farmers Market starts Wednesday, June 11 from noon to 6 pm and will be held rain or shine every Wednesday through October 22 in Huddy Park, located at the intersection of Main and Water streets.
The growing season in New Jersey allows for a fantastic array of produce and the farmers will be selling it all fresh from the field -- seasonal vegetables, herbs, fruits and flowers. Participating farmers are: DeWolf Farm, New Egypt; Krowicki Farm Market & Greenhouses, New Egypt; E R & Son Organic Farm, a.k.a. Jeff’s Organic, Monroe Township and Woodland Produce, Fairton.
Adding variety to the fresh produce you can bring to your family’s table are a wide assortment of homemade products that will be for sale: breads and pastries from Lithuanian Bakery, Elizabeth; cheese, breads and olives from Italian Treasures, Brick; pickle products including tomatoes, olives, peppers and mushrooms from Pickle Licious, Teaneck; honey products from Herbertsville Honey, Brick; peanuts, nuts and candy from The Peanut Man, Toms River; and fresh mozzarella, ravioli and sauces from High Mountain Foods. Shoppers are invited to take a break and enjoy a delicious meal from Capone’s Restaurant, available in the concession building in the park.
